25.08.2014The Beaujolais vineyards have ripened normally in spite of fairly cool and rainy conditions in July.
Some sporadic hailstorms have reduced the potential yields in some localised areas.
The sanitary condition is quite satisfactory with the berries having a thick skin.
The earliest ripening areas will begin harvesting on the 4th of September, with the greater part of the vineyards beginning the picking around the 10th of September.
These next few weeks will be crucial for the continuing ripening of the grapes, and for the increase in aromatic complexity. The weather forecast is quite favourable with bright weather and an increase in the temperatures predicted.
