Burgundy expects an early harvest
Globally little water, and in very irregular quantities as a consequence of storms. The vines are healthy. In the whites, the crop should not be very abundant due to frequent and sometimes important failures of bloom (which is somewhat surprising, considering the climatic conditions during the flowering). The sanitary state is excellent.
We still expect to start picking around August 25th.
A hail storm slightly hit the vineyard at night, on June 28th. The damages are not important, but some grapes and part of the foliage were hit. At this stage, the hail only impacts on quantity, but the consequences on rot could also be noticed later on.
Apart from this accident, the vines ares healthy and we are heading towards a beautiful crop.
We are still not recording the summer conditions normally expected, but we enjoyed some nice days. The year remains extremely late...
