Beaujolais Nouveau 2016
22.09.2016The Beaujolais has timidly started the harvest this week with a gradual increase in activity expected in the coming days.
The situations are very heterogeneous in the region, with some parcels having few grapes and others a normal quantity. It is logically the former that were harvested first.
The health status of the grapes is satisfactory throughout the area. The skins are rather thick and the juice is concentrated.
For the later ripening plots the acidity is still high, but with the fine weather announced this week, it is expected to reach a perfectly normal level. The situation is therefore satisfactory.
We look forward to making the initial tastings of the current fermentations in the tanks to give us a first idea of the vintage in the course of next week.
