Beaujolais Nouveau - August 18th 2020 update

Beaujolais like Burgundy has benefited from remarkable summery climatic conditions.
The weather was fine and bright. Temperatures were warm and above the seasonal averages.
There was localised but weak precipitation overall.
The sanitary situation is excellent, however the vines have lacked water. The berries remain small with thick skins and little juice.
The balance between acidity and potential alcohol content remains satisfactory.
Although there are a lot of grapes, the expected volumes will be low. The harvest will begin around the 22nd of August.
The Beaujolais Nouveau 2020 has potential to be remarkable.

We will make a further update when the vinifications have started.
